The long awaited and much talked about 1st Annual 2010 Miss Deaf
International (MDI) Pageant is a reality and will take place in Las
Vegas, Nevada, USA!!
This exciting and energy-charged competition will take place at the
beautiful and elegant private ballroom on the evening of Friday, July
23, 2010!
Sip wine and spirits while enjoying gourmet hors d'oeuvre. Watch our
gorgeous contestants from all over the world compete live in the
spectacular ballroom at Bally's, seating 2,000 guests, or watch on our
large drop screens scattered throughout our private 5,000-square-foot
banquet ballroom located adjacent to the Pageant Finale.
Contestants from over 40 countries will be competing to win the MDI
crown. We have 30 Interested Contestants so far and more coming. The
MDI pageant competition begins as soon as the contestants arrive on
July 14. MDI contestants will be competing on two levels. First will
be the preliminary judging that will take place during the DeafNation
World Deaf Expo week at the Sands Convention Center. The second level
of competition will be during the Finale where the finalists will
compete for the Miss Deaf International title and the coveted crown.
There will be a spectacular swimsuit competition the evening of
Thursday, July 22, poolside at the Treasure Island Hotel.
The Pageant will include four competing categories: private <(no comma)
interview, swimsuit competition, artistic expression, and assessment of
leadership abilities.
Bonita Leek, CEO, and Timothy Joseph Trotto, are the co-founders, “We
have been waiting for the golden opportunity to host the first Miss
Deaf International pageant. This golden opportunity has arrived, and we
are optimistic that the first 2010 Miss Deaf International Pageant will
be a powerful and historic event. Everyone in the Deaf Community will
talk about it for years to come,” states Trotto.
“This MDI Pageant will be the grandest and most elegant deaf pageant to
date”, states Leek. Leek was the co-founder and chairperson for the
2005 Miss Deaf USA Pageant.
With Raymonda Yeh, we have an enthusiastic and energetic Pageant
Director. Our International Coordinator, Kasia Galasiewicz, has been
working tirelessly to recruit contestants from all over the world. We
are anticipating at least 50 contestants.
